Forward Start is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing underprivileged children with the tools necessary to get an education. This can range from pencils and notebooks to bike helmets and shoes. As we continue to grow, we're always looking into other areas where we can assist our community near and far.

In 2008, our soon to be founders were two very young kids who wanted to help out the kids at their school. With the help of their parents, they were able to do just that. That want grew until Forward Start was born in 2011. They continued to operate under the guidance of their parents, which is how our first motto was born, "By kids... For kids... For a better education." Now graduates from college, our two founders still passionately serve their community through Forward Start, and are alwasy on the lookout for kids who want to help too.

Not only has Forward Start helped in its local community of South Florida, but we've also been able to extend our reach to other states such as New York and Pennsylvania, even all the way to Madagascar, India, and different countries in Africa! We've delivered a number of supplies such as a plethora of books to a library in need, coloring books, toothbrushes and toothpaste, backpacks filled to the brim with goodies, toys, canned food, and more. We're continuing to help those around us to ensure we are doing our utmost to assist those in need whether they be across the world or down the street.

You always have the ability to request your donation be used for one of our projects in particular if you'd prefer. However, all unspecified donations are split among all of our projects to ensure students are getting a range of assistance. Remember, if you'd rather donate supplies, scroll through our amazon wishlist for something to give the kids!

Forward Start is not yet registered as an 501c3 organization, and so our donations are NOT tax deductible.

There are many ways! We're always looking for people to get involved. Get in contact with one of our officers to see what we have in store. If you want to stay up to date, but don't want to be on the inside follow our socials or subscribe to our newsletter.

It all depends on your availability. No matter what, you can always work with any number of our projects and events. This can include physically attending events at locations near you, or virtually assisting us! If you find yourself enjoying your time with us, anyone is welcome to apply to be an officer and become a full flown member of our nonprofit.

To become an officer, you have to volunteer for at least three events. Once you've worked with us for a little, you'll be able to fill out a short form to let us know of your interest and the like. We'll reach out to you and the rest is history! We're always looking for people who are as dedicated to helping their community and more. And we'd be lucky to have you with us!

Yes! Forward Start, first and foremost, is students helping students. We are so excited to welcome any student volunteers and are more than willing to assist in signing off on your work with us!
